Full Description
Kidzternet is designed to make the Internet a little safer for children with autism. Its simple interface only allows (direct) access to websites that have been added to the “allowed” list. Instead of typing a site’s address, your child simply chooses it from this list.
Kidzternet also features a very simple interface. In its simplest mode, Kidzternet has only four buttons: “Back”, “Trace”, “Choose a Website” and “Extended Toolbar”. The extended toolbar gives options for adding sites to the allowed list, changing the Kidzternet password (which is needed to add sites to the list), and some more common web browser controls, such as “Forward” and “Refresh”.
Kidzternet has encountered issues with some websites, with which it appears to be incompatible. These websites include some Flash-based interactive games. However, Kidzternet is compatible with most sites.
